Records Fall in Glass City Marathon

The Glass City Marathon went off without a hitch Sunday, as chilly temperatures and a slight wind at race time gave way to pleasant warmth and a sunny, bright blue sky for the 9,000 runners.

The Glass City Marathon is known as one of the faster races in the country. All four major course records fell Sunday, which brought ideal conditions for the race. The marathon and half marathon kicked off at 7:02 a.m. with temperatures in the high 30s, but with bright sunshine and little wind.

Some of the returning runners said race conditions were among the best in years, making the celebratory post-run beer all the tastier.
