Toledo Ranked #3 Best Mid-Sized Metro in Economic Development

Toledo was recently recognized as the 3rd best city among mid-size metros in the U.S. by Site Selection magazine for their Governor’s Cup Awards. Toledo was compared to other metropolitan areas with more than 200,000 but less than 1 million people, placing above other Ohio metros such as Dayton and Akron. 

Site Selection is a leading publication for the economic development industry. The rankings are based on three main variables: business developments of at least 20 new jobs, 20,000 square feet of floor space or $1 million in investment capital. Toledo had 31 major business projects in 2017

Site Selection also recognized the state of Ohio, which placed second nationally for economic development, based on the number of projects completed in 2017. Ohio had 467 business projects in 2017.
