University of Toledo Grad Swims with the Sharks
Tom Burden, a 2014 graduate of the University of Toledo's College of Engineering and the LaunchPad Incubation program, recently swam with the sharks on ABC's "Shark Tank."
Tech Sargeant Burden, an F-16 weapons mechanic by day, pitched his product, Grypmat, to the team of investors hoping that one of them might bite on his innovative non-slip tool tray.
As it turns out, every shark was interested in his product and extended an offer, but in the end he struck a great deal with Richard Branson, Mark Cuban, and Lori Greiner worth $360,000 for a 30% stake in the company.
