180th Fighter WIng Dedicates F-16 Fighter Jets

The 180th Fighter Wing dedicated F-16 fighter jets to local communities during a special ceremony Aug. 9, 2015. The all-day event recognized 16 communities by permanently placing the community's name on an actual F-16 fighter jet.

The 16 communities selected included Swanton, Wauseon, Holland, Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Delta, Haskins, Bowling Green, Oregon, Sylvania, Toledo, Whitehouse, Monclova, Waterville and Ottawa hills. They were chosen because of their proximity and the percentage of Airmen at the 180th who live in those communities.

Mayors and other civic leaders were invited to represent their communities and participate in the ceremonies.

The 180th Fighter Wing (180 FW) is a unit of the Ohio Air National guard stationed at Toledo Air National Guard Base. The mission of the 180th Fighter Wing is to train, organize, and equip expeditionary war fighters to deploy, fight, and win worldwide, with minimum response time, in cases of national emergency or war.
