Jones Leadership Academy of Business Opens Bloomberg Lab

Thanks to a significant investment from the Bloomberg Foundation and other community partners, students at Jones Leadership Academy of Business will have hands-on experiences with technology that can only be found in one of two labs located in urban schools throughout the country. The foundation invested over $350,000 in the Bloomberg Lab which features terminals the students can use to explore real-world business practices and interact with Wall Street.

The lab project started in August with the help of partners including Huntington Bank, Owens Community College and the University of Toledo. Outfitted with special software, stock market tickers and computers, the space is uniquely positioned for teaching students about finance, the stock market, and how to use both throughout their life.  

Jones Leadership Academy of Business was developed as an option for Toledo Public Schools students who envision themselves as future business or community leaders. The school currently offers a college preparatory program for students in 7-12 grade. Students can also earn certifications for banking careers.
