Toledo Ballets Celebrates Nutcracker's Diamond Jubileee

This holiday season, the Toledo Ballet proudly presents its 75th Anniversary Nutcracker--the longest running production in the United State!

Accompanied by the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, world-renowned guest artists will showcase their stunning technique and stage presence with yet another generation of Nutcracker fans. 

To celebrate the milestone, there will be numerous surprises for audiences when the show leaps to stage at the Stranahan Theater. Lisa Mayer is bringing back the Prologue and the Sweets,integral parts of founder Marie Fogt's productions, in the Saturday evening performance.

The performances will also feature Mary Carmen Catoya and Renato Penteado. Ms. Catoya, a native of Venezuela, is currently a principal dancer with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida while Mr. Penteado continues as a principal with Miami City Ballet. Renato has been performing as a guest artist since 2008.

All Toledo Ballet alum are invited to be part of this special Diamond Jubilee celebration by joining Marie Vogt on stage for a curtain call and raise a symbolic glass to the long and rich legacy that is Toledo Ballet.
