Toledo NAACP Celebrates 100 Years
As one of the oldest, continually operating branches in the country, the Toledo NAACP has been an agent for change and progress in the Toledo region.
The organization celebrates it 100th year in 2015.
While the festivities officially began in February of this year, the party continues throughout the year with multiple events and promotions.
A truly big party takes place October 24th with a black tie gala at Stranahan Theater featuring Three Mo' Tenors, a trio of classically trained tenors who preform a medley of opera, jazz, blue, Gospel and Broadway.
A gallery celebration prior to the main entertainment will showcase the works of five local artists along with more live music.
The event's goal is to celebrate the rich history of the organization and recognize the leaders who organized one century ago in the hopes of creating a better community.
