Toledo Symphony to Play Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert on May 4

In 2019, on May the Fourth, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra will present a screening of Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) while performing the musical score live simultaneously.

The musical score was composed by John Williams and will be conducted by Steven Jarvi, Interim Artistic Director of the Charlottesville Opera and former Resident Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony.

William’s score to Star Wars: A New Hope has been selected as the greatest American film score of all time by the American Film Institute in 2005. The Library of Congress also preserved the soundtrack in the National Recording Registry for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

The screening and performance will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019, beginning at 8 p.m. in the Huntington Center. Ticket prices begin at $27 and will go on sale to the general public on August 1, 2018.

Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com, by calling the Toledo Symphony Box office at 419-246-8000, or by going in person to the Toledo Symphony or Huntington Center box offices.
